Here’s how I went from a $60K data analyst with zero sales experience to making six-figure in tech sales —and helping my first 10 clients do the same. I graduated with my Bachelor of Commerce in Canada, and at the time I was living in Toronto. But I'd always dreamed about living in Montreal, so literally two weeks after graduation, I packed my stuff and moved there for my first full-time job.
It felt like such a fresh start. New city, new chapter. But after a while, I realized... it wasn't really lighting me up. It was fine — but "fine" wasn't the life I wanted.
A recruiter reached out and offered me a data analyst role back in Toronto, so I took it and moved back.
The job was stable, but man — every day felt the same.
Wake up. Commute. Sit in a cubicle. Stare at spreadsheets. Go home. Repeat.
I started feeling like a robot — like I was doing all the “right” things, but none of it actually felt right for me.
That summer, I took a trip to Mexico City, and honestly… that trip flipped a switch in me.
Something about being there made me realize I wanted freedom. I didn't want to spend the next 40 years in a cubicle.
So as I was chilling in Mexico City, I went into full job-hunting mode — updating my LinkedIn, sending cold messages, interviewing nonstop. Within a month, I had two tech sales offers.
That's when everything started changing.
On the first month of being a BDR, I became #1 on my team.
I was making great money, traveling whenever I wanted — Japan, Chicago, Europe — and even flying home to China to see my parents way more often.
It was the first time in my life I felt truly free — like I was actually living, not just existing.
That's when I decided to build Ripple Effect.
After so many people started asking how I made that jump, I knew I wanted to help others do the same — to stop playing small, stop waiting for "perfect timing", and actually make a move.
